Okay, I know I’ve inundated y’all with Napa Valley posts but I can’t help it. And I also am not sorry cuz I learned about another great spot nestled away in St. Helena that I’m sharing today: Chris Cosentino’s Acacia House.
Part restaurant, part hotel, and part pseudo-winery (Beringer is right next door and offers special tastings), Acacia House offers full-on splendor for a day or weekend trip to Napa Valley.
The building itself has been around for years, and the original facade is still intact. There’s been added construction for the restaurant, hotel rooms, and back areas, complete with a heated pool (82 degrees!) and a gorgeous view of the Beringer vineyards. The rooms are also lush and scream relaxing—I’m talking personal fire pit. A personal. fire. pit. in. your. room.
Chris Cosentino (of Incanto for anyone back in SF) provides a menu unlike any of his old restaurants. Brunch is classic and refined, from waffle chips with caviar to a lobster roll with avocado, a delicious mix of East and West coast. There’s also a special tea service, with a selection of teas and an even bigger selection of pastries that arrive in tiers. And if you know me, you know that I live for pastries, more so when there are tiers of them.
During the colder months, Acacia House is cozy and relaxing. It’s an obvious choice either when starting your wine tasting in the valley or when returning from it, as it’s located on the main road in St. Helena. Although if it were me, I’d definitely stay the night to have the opportunity to wake up to rolling vineyards and take a dip in the pool. And of course, eat everything on the menu.
