I don’t know about y’all, but the weather we had this past weekend made it impossible for me to stay indoors for any time other than sleeping. I even have to write this post while sitting outside at Beanbag Café!
As usual, it was about 10 degrees warmer in the East Bay, so I had to follow the sun there. First Friday happens at the beginning of each month in downtown Oakland and hosts the coolest (much cooler than me) assortment of art, music, food, and community projects. Street festivals are common all over the Bay, but Oakland brings a totally different, down-to-earth vibe that you won’t experience anywhere else. And it’s the only place where I can have a spontaneous dance-off and not feel like a complete noob (read: I can’t dance).
After some East Bay loving with First Friday and homecoming Saturday, bluegrass Sunday is the best place to be. I’ll admit, I know nothing about bluegrass, but any place I can enjoy some good food in good company rounds out a solid weekend.
Strictly delicious.
This guy makes an appearance in the East Bay!
Looks like a damn good time to me, and I don’t know a thing about bluegrass.
Neither do I! But any excuse to be outside on a sunny day in SF is fine with me 🙂
