There’s a lot going on right now. The year is halfway through. My first marathon is five weeks away. I hit my late twenties in two weeks. I bought tickets to Germany in September. I’ll be attending Burning Man for the first time in August. And it’s Shark Week.
Woof.
Anyone who knows me knows I’m not one to slow down for anyone or anything. If I’m not exploring or eating, I’m not living. As the second half of the year approaches, it’s a good time to reflect on those resolutions from January to see how much living I’ve been doing. I gotta say, I think I’m doing pretty well! And while I may not survive the marathon (in the words of Drake, “I pray I make it back in one piece”), I’m feeling motivated with good people and good food all around me.
Before I head to Tahoe for our annual 4th of July friends trip, I’ve got a list of what’s making me feel thankful:
(Silent) dancing on the beach
Spicy miso ramen
Gerald, aka my spirit animal from “Finding Dory”
Aleve
These shoes
Harry Potter trivia (much harder than it looks!)
Massages
The best week of the year‑SHARK WEEK
Dinner date nights
Scuba diving at the Channel Islands
My brother, for being the bamf he is and graduating college!
Boomerang (actually obsessed with this app)
My foam roller
