I usually reserve Weekend EAT posts to recap the month, but sometimes, a weekend happens that’s so full of celebrations, bliss, sunshine, and relaxation that I can’t wait to share it.
As SF experiences its iconic Indian summer, it was a perfect weekend to celebrate my good friend Andi’s marriage! She has a knack for finding the cutest spots in SF and making them magical. The celebrations at Dogpatch WineWorks were no exception. A coop of sorts, different merchants can use the space to make their wine. With beautiful lighting and pretty much every single cheese from Trader Joe’s on display, it was an afternoon to remember and celebrate the newlyweds.
As part of a much-needed R&R Sunday, I discovered Polk Street, a neighborhood I thought I knew but actually learned so much more about! It’s amazing how a simple afternoon stroll with best friends can lead to finding a plant store (Utsuwa – check it out!), an aquarium store, a speaker and headphones store, and of course, a hearty brunch at Jane on Larkin.
I’m the kind of person who usually has a million things planned for a weekend, so it was refreshing to just enjoy being in the present with people I care deeply about and soak in the city vibes. It was a good reminder that simple pleasures are all around us, and it’s worth slowing down from time to time to rediscover them.
Wishing everyone a good start to your week!
