As we gear up for a sugar/spook/dance/costume-filled Halloween (check my Instagram this weekend to see what I’ll be dressed up as), it’s time to look back on some favorite spots from October. Fall is in full swing, so bring out the golden leaves, longer nights, and pumpkin EVERYTHING:
- Hardly strictly BRUNCH: Cooking brunch for my best friends, relaxing to good music, and this apple lattice tart recipe = great weekend.
- The quiche from Le Marais: A bakery named after the hipster-est neighborhood in Paris? I’m there.
- Love hard, give a fuck: Sorry for the language, but Jojo’s Sriracha has a knack of saying the things that need to be said – and making everything taste better.
- Pumpkin carving: October isn’t complete without it! And did you know there are pumpkin patches in the city?
- Pizza of the day from Sliver: Because I’ve forever left a SLIVER of my heart in Berkeley.
- Dogpatch Wineworks: One of the coolest spots to host a party!
- Utsuwa Plants: For all your succulent needs.
- Union Square Café: I typically don’t like being in the touristy areas of SF, but life has been a little hectic/scary/unpredictable lately, and an afternoon of mimosas in the eye of the city’s hurricane let me feel like everything will be okay.
- Churchill: Making afternoon beers completely necessary and normal.
- DIY Projects: Pumpkin puff pastries! Say that three times fast and happy Halloween!

I love Le Marais! I haven’t tried the quiche though! Hope you had a fun Halloween 😀
