At the height of SF summer, there was no better way to spend Saturday than eating and drinking through San Francisco Magazine’s FallFest 2015!
Every year, the event showcases the best of the food and wine scene, and everything goes towards supporting the city’s non-proft Meals on Wheels. With the boy and fellow bloggers in tow – Eating Though SF, CynEats, and Jetsetting Fashionista – we ate everything in sight with tons of wine to match.
As the day went on, my pictures became slightly blurrier (strictly blaming the multiple glasses of wine handed to me at Cultivar), but the afternoon was fantastic. Deviled eggs from Ramen Bar legit tasted like ramen in an egg and blew my mind. The duck confit toasts with pomegranate from the Market on Market were light and refreshing, unusual for most duck dishes.
I even got to relive my burrata-making days and go in for round 2 of making my favorite cheese from scratch with Precita Park Café! Is it cheating if I went on stage and pretended to not know what I was doing? If so, it was still a blast and an excuse to eat extra burrata.
Obviously I ate dessert first, second, and third throughout the event. Coffee gelato from Naia beat the heat in the afternoon, and goat milk cheesecakes with pumpkin from my old restaurant group, Reverb + Gather, were so good we kept going back! Hazelnut financiers with praline cremeux and candied kumquats from Barbacco were almost too pretty to eat…almost.
Events like Fall Fest are another reminder of what makes San Francisco great – the collaboration between food and wine is unparalleled, and everyone in the city gets to be involved with cooking and eating for a good cause!

Oh my goodness, I wish I could know what everything was.
The “love hard, give a fuck.” Totally dig it.
