Oh Santa Barbara, the land of beaches, tacos, and Katy Perry’s bar. How I love and loathe you for making me simultaneously hungover and refreshed by sunrise runs along the shore. And while I loved visiting you and pretending I knew that Natty Caf was the best healthy lunch spot near the office, I’m still a San Franciscan through and through. But as KP sings, if I have the chance to come back…
Do it all again.
Introducing Betty, my coworker’s dog. Ugly, sassy and lovable – I’m convinced she’s my spirit animal.
Julia Child declared Taqueria Super-Rica her favorite place to eat at in SB, and I can see why. This tented resto rocks authentic Mexican food. Pictured: Vegetarian tamal with corn, zucchini, pasilla chile strips and cream sauce. Nomz.
La Chapala Market, a hole-in-the-wall in Goleta. 70% Hispanic grocery store, 20% lunch space, and 10% Spanish Blockbuster. Though the cooks take their time, the food is ridiculously good. Don’t forget a GIANT pineapple juice to wash down the 1 2 3 tacos you’re about to inhale.
Detoxing from SB at SoPa…beer counts as detoxing right?
Detox continues with a Dawn cocktail from Nopa – Flor de caña, apricot liqueur, amaro, and lemon.
The signature pizza from Little Star – spinach, ricotta, onions, mozzarella, and feta. Sorry for being fat this weekend, guys.
Goat cheese bread pudding?! Everything looks AMAZING. I’m drooling for that pizza, that tamale and those tacos. Basically everything. Take me to Austin and teach me how to eat.
10 more days and I will! Be there.
Goat cheese bread pudding!!! That got me. We found the savoy cafe, coffee in bone china cups
Woah, next time take a photo for me!
