Weekend E.A.T. – Long Weekend

2014-05-23 14.10.41 copy

Real talk – how badly did we all need this three-day weekend doh? Memorial Day weekend, while full of picnics and being outside-ness, is always one of those times in which since it’s the first holiday we have in three months, our minds and bodies are itching for an extra day of relaxation. While people were out and about on their weekend getaways, I had a staycation to recalibrate and have some me-time to take charge of what makes me happy – mainly brunch, ice cream, and recipe-testing.

With my first catering gig today (!) and a new apartment shift in 5 days (Haight Street, here I come), this extra day off was need to help prep for upcoming changes and the second half of 2k14!

AND – there will be some new granola flavors coming out soon, so don’t forget to grab yourself a bag ☺

How did you spend the three-day weekend?

Blue Bottle

Usual weekly breakfast at Blue Bottle

Cakes

Frog Hollow

Parfait from Frog Hollow – also a breakfast favorite

San Jalisco Taqueria

Taco adventures at San Jalisco in the Mission – the fish taco wasn’t great, the veggie one was passable. Overall way too much sour cream.

Mission Chinese

SF staple Mission Chinese! Their egg-egg noodles are outta control, and you can’t get it as takeout, so looks like I’ll be here forever.

Farmer's Market

Fresh haul from the farmer’s market!

Suppenkuche

Suppenkuche

Had to take a little break from being healthy to drink a liter of beer and then probably a pound of cheese and butter from this spatzle from Suppenkuche. Worth it.

Herbivore Restaurant

Chocolate chip crepes from Herbivore

San Francisco

Salad

Monday night meals – Arugula, celery, ricotta, white beans, and veggie sausage in a lemon vinaigrette

Banana Bread

Recipe testing – banana bread muffins with cheesecake topping!

We had a long weekend too here in London. They call it bank holidays 🙁 not sure why. I haven’t dome much, except catching up with friends. Your weekly breakfast is similar to mine 🙂

Sometimes, a long relaxing weekend is just what we need. No wonder our London office was also closed on Monday then 🙂

Moving is SUCH a pain, but it’s always worth it in the end!
