In lieu of seeing local legend/rapper Too $hort on Friday, this weekend followed the mantra of his second studio album – Life is Too Short. With gorgeous weather, it was so hard to stay inside, so I had to be out and take the world by storm with some NEW INK!
For those of you who have tattoos, is it weird to stare at it over and over again? Because for the past two days, that’s all I’ve been doing. It was a pretty bold move, but I don’t want to lose sight of what the years in the restaurant industry has taught me about working hard, strong and staying committed to the things and people that matter most. Being a pastry cook was one of the formative experiences that I’ve had, and it has helped me tremendously as I ride the waters of blog-dom and online businesses. I’m pretty stoked to have a little bit of that life on me!
In usual SLM fashion, no weekend was complete without some afternoon beers and a boozy brunch, followed by more live music to soak in the sun – Life is too short to not pursue your dreams and do what you love.
Don’t stop the hustle.

you have got a pretty sweet tattoo – i have one on my back which makes it hard to see but i felt it regularly esp first couple of months.

What is your tattoo?! I think back tatts are so rad.

Thanks lady!

Rad tattoo! I’d be looking at it all day too. I put mine behind my ear, so I never find myself trying to look at it (I’d look pretty silly if I did, I think:). Would love to get together and pick your brain about being a pastry cook sometime!

I love behind-the-ear tattoos too, and I’m sure it’s super awesome. Let’s definitely get together: My email is skaiwarkar@gmail.com 🙂
