Happy day-after-the-long-weekend-when-all-we-want-to-do-is-relive-the-past! It’s pretty safe to say that with the Fourth of July falling on a Friday, we all got to treat ourselves to a little fun in the sun to ring in independence. I got to spend the days with 22 (!) beautiful, fun people shacked up in a cabin at Lake Tahoe.
With a full-time job, a dessert gig (have you gotten your blackberry-mascarpone cakes yet?), and an itch to travel, I tend to always be in a hurry – my roommate points this out to me constantly. Mini getaways with like-minded people are a great way to recharge without a charger and chill out with nature and a good ‘Murrican beer. And the view of the lake ain’t half bad, either.
I’d like to say I’m ready to tackle the week, but it’s back to the grind with KTC to make, work to do, and a birthday to celebrate. But on a scale of 1 to America, I’m feeling pretty damn free.
What did you eat celebrate the Fourth?
Duets, an amazing concoction of brownie meets Madeleine
Pardon my French.

Found sour beer! Thanks Tahoe Mountain Brewery.
You know pretzels are my MO
Breakfasting at Old Soul in Sacramento on our drive back
This is the best sandwich I’ve had in San Francisco to date – the grits and egg vegetarian sando from 4505 Meats. My stomach can’t handle what just hit it. Seriously. I’m dead.
WHOA to that last sammy–and I love that you document your eating travels so well! (I’m usually either too impatient or grab less-than-stellar photos from my phone) It’s 9 PM and I’m ready for my second hobbit dinner just looking through this post…
