While SF summer usually doesn’t begin until September, Karl the Fog evidently took off for vacation early. That meant August was full of sun and what we consider heat – temperatures of above 75 degrees.
I am a full-on summer baby, so there was little to complain about in August. Instead, I got to have a ton of fun enjoying music festivals and restaurants new and old. I also got to check some items off the twentySEX bucket list – swimming Alcatraz, starting a new job, and as of tomorrow, embarking on my second international trip of the year!
I’ll be taking a bit of a break these next two weeks as I travel (and figuring out whether I like the new Weeknd album or not), but be sure to follow me on Instagram to stay updated on where I’m eating and visiting. Tag me if you check out any of my August favorites:
Bon Marché: This new restaurant debuted last week, and the launch party showcased many dishes from the French menu. Obviously my personal favorite was the cheese plate, but the cocktails and small bites are great and make for a fun Friday happy hour.
Ice Cream: When the weather is this hot, I have to double my ice cream take. Bi Rite never does me wrong, but CREAM is another fun spot that takes me back to college with its ice cream sandwiches.
Coffeeshops: Besides my usual staples – The Mill and Blue Bottle – a new spot opened up across the street from me called Black Sands. Café by day and brewery at night, I see myself stumbling back and forth here a lot in the near future.

Wasn’t the summer so weird here this year? I’m definitely not complaining :D!
