Weekend E.A.T. – Brunch and Books

2014-01-26 15.51.14 copy

I don’t know what is happening in SF, but suddenly, the sun is out, Dolores Park is packed in January, and I can’t stop thinking about Reginald, who I am unofficially adopting as my own. Can there just be a little less work to do and a little more brunch to eat? Please?

Books aside, it was a beautiful weekend to visit some old stomping grounds with old stomping partners and discover new places to get some work done. It’s surprising how quickly cafes fill up over the weekend – for the amount of fun we have, we sure seem to have to earn it!

Do any of you do work over the weekend at coffee shops? Which ones are your favorites?

La Note Berkeley

Brunch done right: Cheese omelet and cinnamon brioche at La Note in Berkeley

Sunset

I’m telling you, East Bay sunsets are the best.

Picaro sangria

Saturday sangria at Picaro. Oh hay Imali!

Panera

Gotta say, Panera delivers with its breakfast Mediterranean egg white sandwich.

Philz coffee

Salted caramel Smitten ice cream

Salted caramel and TCHO chocolate sauce from Smitten – into it.

I know, the weather is crazy lately. It’s like July in January. Hopefully, rain is on the way, though, since we need it so desperately. Meantime, I’ll be like you and drown my drought sorrows in Smitten ice cream. 😉

I know it really should rain, but I can’t but love that it is so sunny. Except I think I spoke too soon because it is COLD today!

You definitely have to come back, and tell me when you do! There is lots of food to be had.

I am always looking for new coffee shops to hangout on the weekends. Philz is always great, but mainly just for the coffee (not for the environment, its always too crowded!)

I felt the same way – I couldn’t get any work done cus it was too crowded, and I ended up working at Panera next door!
