For the last few years, fall time has meant travel time (besides pumpkin spice time, but that goes without saying).
For the last several years, my family and I used September/October as an opportunity to travel somewhere new and spend quality time together. The idea was to deliberately choose a place that would be a little out of all of our comfort zones, and be somewhere none of us had gone before. If we don’t bite each other’s heads off, then the newness of the adventure would surely bring us closer together. Usually there was some combination of the two and so an overall successful vacation.
Hectic schedules, new jobs, and just general #life prevented us from traveling this fall, but I’m sharing a roundup of posts in which I talk about where we’ve gone, show some photos, and write my recommendations on what to eat/drink/do. Hope y’all can find some travel inspo; is anyone going anywhere cool this month?
2016: Sicily { TLDR: Pasta, seafood, rent a car to drive from one end to the other }
2015: Iceland + Copenhagen { TLDR: Iceland is basically another planet; CPH is basically food heaven }
2014: Paris { TLDR: I did this trip alone as a pastry pilgrimage. Paris is fast changing but many of my recs still hold up }
2013: Ecuador { TLDR: Rainforests, 10k feet of elevation, and empanadas }
