San Francisco isn’t known for its rooftop spaces. And with good reason: It’s foggy approximately 86.3% of the time (ugh Karl, y u do this), and if you’re anywhere that isn’t the Presidio or the Marina, any views of the street are well…interesting. We ain’t NYC or LA, and ain’t never gonna be.
But slowly, surely, small rooftop spaces are creeping up all over the city. There are POPOS (privately owned public open spaces), and as of late, there’s the deck of the Loews Regency Hotel in downtown San Francisco.
The deck is small and mighty, hosting that KILLER view of the city you see above. Perfect for pairs or trios of patrons, the bar hosts a slew of smoked cocktails. As you can see above, they smoke the drinks fresh in a nifty little device. My Old Fashioned became a brand new drink, especially when overlooking the city skyline.
The sky deck is located on the 40th floor and is open to locals and guests Thursday through Saturday early evenings. Grab a friend and head over to catch the sunset, grab a drink, and start your night.

That looks sooo cool! I’ve never seen a smoked cocktail in that device. And I love rooftop spaces. I don’t care if it’s in San Francisco. I’ll throw on a sweater anytime.
