I rarely go out to eat Indian food. 40 percent is because I find most Indian restaurants lack authenticity and are far too heavy. 60 percent is because having lived in and visited India often, I have a specific idea of what the cuisine should be; and I almost never find it when eating out. But when Indian Paradox opened and touted regional street food that’s also paired with wine, I decided to see what it was all about.
Indian Paradox is a unique concept that brings street food from all parts of India under one roof. Anyone familiar with India knows how difficult this is to do, as each region is extremely specific in ingredients and execution of their dishes. There is also a concise list of wines with which to pair with the food, something that I don’t see often. I appreciate the list being succinct as I can really learn what each wine is about before making my decision. As it is, the owner, Kavitha, is there most nights happily chatting with guests and showing her wine knowledge as well (she is a certified sommelier).
With the Bollywood decor (my personal favorite), the unique dishes, and cozy atmosphere, Indian Paradox is a nice spot to have a weekday dinner and learn a few new things about Indian food. Check out my slideshow below of the menu!
