“This must be it, welcome to the new year.”
It is crazy – and a little jarring – to realize that this year is over, because what a year it has been! From eating more desserts than I can count to living out of a suitcase approximately 75 percent of the time, 2014 has been a year of wanderlust.
While San Francisco has, and I’m sure always will be, home base, there was a certain appetite for adventure and resistance to complacency that pulled me to cities all over the map. The world is large, yet also very small; through friendships old and new and a hunger for self-discovery, I set out to get shit done.
As 2014 ends, a need tends to arise to forge resolutions on how to improve our lives and ourselves. This need has merit, but I’d rather start 2015 with a sense of accomplishment over the awesome things that occurred in the last 12 months. Incessant travel, an online business, ice cream making, music festivals, and so many people that make me smile til it hurts – that’s a pretty badass year, which means 2015 can only bring better experiences.
One of my favorite things about having this blog is that I get to record memories and share everything with y’all – whether you like it or not, hehe. I can’t wait to keep sharing and make everyone’s lives a bit sweeter and more delicious. Here’s a look back at some of my favorite posts and moments from 2014 – Happy New Year!

Traveling: Austin, New York, Chicago, Santa Barbara, India, and my personal favorites, Paris and Portland. As Drake says, “steady racking up the air miles.”
Bloggers in Crime: Blogging is much more fun with a confidante, and with the lovely Aimee, there is nobody better to tear through SF (and Portland!) with.
Open for Business: For the first time, SLM desserts were available online for sale! Running an online business is not easy, and it’s been a fun and trying challenge that I want to continue into the new year.
Recipes: Ice creams galore (Guinness and Blueberry Coconut), and hollering at rectangular tarts because round tarts are so 2013.
Restaurants Helmed by Women Chefs: The delicious cuisine at places like Prune and Girl & the Goat is a one-up for female chefs everywhere to keep shining.
Weekends in San Francisco: Brunches, Bay to Breakers, coffeeshops, and friends make me feel so lucky to live here. Things will always work out as long as we do the things we love and be warriors, not worriers.
