When the weather turns cold, it’s time to follow the sun and make another work+pleasure trip to the town that is Santa Barbara. Just like last time, there was delicious food to be had and fantastic company to eat it all with. It makes me feel so fortunate to live in a state where I can enjoy beachside living so readily, especially when the temperature is dipping below 40 degrees in the city by the bay.
The only thing about SB is that I invariably up feeling like this by the end:
Still, always worth it.
Crepes to fuel the 5-hour drive down – luh me some buckwheat.
Sushi at Sushiya, a popular spot in Isla Vista. Not the greatest (the same goes for the service), but it’s a college town and so expectations are low. It still wasn’t as bad as this place.
Work lunch at Union Ale on State Street – I would have included the photo of the salad but I ate it too quickly :/
Beachside and great food… you’re lucky indeed. That nicoise salad looks very good.
Nordstrom cafe is really delicious – have you ever been? I feel like i should try the one in SF now!
I went to Santa Barbara years ago and loved it. So much good food there!!
It’s quite an adorable town, and with the beach, I could stay here for awhile!
looks like a fun weekend for you 🙂
It was lovely – I can’t wait to go back!
This looks like a fun trip. I will need to check out this town – I haven’t been yet.
Brenda, let me know if you ever visit, because I just might sneak away and join you!
