Chambers Restaurant is the kind of place that turns into whatever you want it to. It’s unique enough for a first date, sultry enough for a date night, and happening enough for a weekend brunch or pool party at the adjacent Phoenix Hotel. It glows in the Tenderloin, and not only because of the “Be Amazing” sign hanging over the bar. The staff and of course, the food, make it worth visiting again and again.
I had the opportunity to eat here a few weeks ago to try some new dishes on their menu. Instead of the usual classics like the burger, I had a couple things from each section, starting with small bites and moving through dessert. Some of my favorites:
Midnight Rambler {A fun whiskey cocktail that’s a little sweet but not enough to overpower }
Brussels Sprouts Salad { Fall in a salad, with peppery arugula and spiced walnuts }
Crispy Pork Belly { I’m a sucker for pork belly anything, and this version with bacon sauce was delicious }
Apple Tart { I loved their version, filled with crème anglaise and ice cream for a perfect finish }
If you’re in town for Thanksgiving weekend and looking for a solid spot, come to Chambers for dinner or brunch, and get ready to be amazing.
