Valentine’s Day for me, more often than not, is Galentine’s Day, where me and my best girl friends go out and drink whiskey. Okay, that’s just me drinking whiskey, but y’all see where I’m coming from.
BUT. Valentine or not, ‘tis the season for chocolate and dessert, and I can never say no to that, especially since I got gifted this fantastic fruity dark chocolate from Cacao-Barry and got to make some of these.
With all the dessert in the air, I present to you a handy list of all the cool, hipster-like, delicious things you should be eating and places you should be going to celebrate or rebel against this weekend. Go solo, with your lover or friend, or with me! I’ll never turn down dessert.

Le Dix-Sept’s Valentine Gift Pop-Up

If you are a non-planner (y’all know who you are), come here and pick up some last-minute gifts and drinks. If you are a planner (oh hey!), order from Le Dix-Sept and choose a rose chocolate tart, confection boxes, and more.
Chocolate Lab’s Prix Fixe Dinner
When: Friday, 6pm and 8pm

I’ve always loved this place since it opened for master chocolatier Michael Recchiuti’s small plates of savory and sweet options. The Valentine dinner comes with a chocolate parting gift, and there is even a “Dessert Only” walk-in option for those of you who think like I do and realize that the only real meal is dessert anyways.
Give:
Aphrodisiac Artisan Box
When: Order by Wednesday to get your delivery by Friday
This special runs all month –a box of local goods such as chocolate bon bons, hot almond hearts, and hot chocolate toffee. It even comes with a compilation CD – get yourself a box and nosh on at home with some tunes.
Just because it is awesome. And if you give this to me, I will definitely be your Valentine forever. #2cheeze

Galentine’s Day is the best idea I’ve heard in a long time! I love the idea of spending a day celebrating with your friendship! I am going to have to suggest that to my bestie!
Shikha says
Yes, do it! I can’t take credit for it – it’s from Parks and Rec, but it’s such a good idea!

We dont’ really celebrate V-Day either, but I am definitely up for some chocolate!!
Shikha says
Right? Chocolate is an all-around thing, don’t’ need a day just to eat it!
Dixya @ Food, Pleasure, and Health says

That chocolate gift you received was pretty fantastic!
Shikha says
I didn’t actually receive it, but I sure would like to, because it looks so good!
Kathi @ Deliciously Yum! says
It doesn’t really matter if you celebrate V-Day or not, I take any day that allows me to eat as much chocolate as I possibly can! Loved this post and am seriously intrigued by your chocolate gift 🙂
Shikha says
Aww thanks so much, Kathi! I really hope someone decides to get me that chocolate box, or at least the grilled cheese necklace, so I can showcase my love for cheese on Valentine’s Day.
Carolyn Jung says
Love the Grilled Cheese necklace. I know many friends who would go crazy for that, since their love for cheese is pretty serious. 😉
