As per tradition for the last few years, Valentine’s Day has been Galentine’s, a night of wreaking havoc out with the best of gals and channeling this:
Even though the heart-shaped ____________ get a little out of control this time of year, I have little to complain about given that there was a three-day weekend and I got to spend some quality time with friends, food (wait til see what I have for y’all this week), and sunsets. Seriously, I’m having a thing for sunsets and it’s kind of weird. I need to go back to more manly things.
If you had a long weekend, what did you do to celebrate? Or even if you didn’t, how did you rock out with your chocolate out?

Omg that sounds like SUCH a fun weekend!!! My roommate threw a waffle bar dinner party for Galentine’s Day and then Erik and I went to dinner on Valentine’s day…and then again on Saturday since he wasn’t able to make a res for the restaurant he wanted on Fri. A giant slice of chocolate on chocolate cake was involved and it was amaaazing.

A waffle bar dinner party? Uhm, immediately chatting you to learn about this – that sounds so amazing. How was your V-day dinner?

sounds like a fun weekend for ya..I had a pretty low key v-day with stir fry and Breaking Bad, no regrets!
Shikha says
That sounds so good! I go crazy with Breaking Bad and watch like 5 episodes at a time and get super anti-social. It’s so worth it though.

That apple compote granola and this entire weekend (but especially the granola–I love granola!) look amazing. And oooh, I have always wanted to try Herbivore! Maybe I will when I come back to visit this week 🙂 I spent my Galentine’s weekend a) with my professors (ick?) and b) having home-hosted dinner parties, a Vday movie/dinner outing, and lots of pajama time. <3

Are you visiting SF this week?? What for?! Oh man, if you need any recommendations, please let me know, I have so many! Honestly, there are much better places than Herbivore, so if you have limited time here don’t go there.
I definitely watched a Vday movie as well!

I’m just taking a much-needed post-exam trip back home, actually! I’m not from the city but it’s close enough where I could probably visit 🙂 It’s been so long since I’ve been to Ghirardelli Square and touristy spots, maybe I’ll hit those up…but yes, if you have recs, all the more awesome and send them my way!
Shikha says
You should definitely visit – the weather will be good too! Do Dandelion Chocolate and Craftsman & Wolves for pastry. Tartine has great sandwiches, and Bi Rite ice cream is close by. Katanaya is great for ramen, and Ike’s for sandwiches!
