Who is Shikha Kaiwar?
The short version: A Bay Area native, content marketer, and pastry cook-turned blogger living in San Francisco.
The longer version:
When I was 13, I made my first cheesecake and nearly destroyed the kitchen. Then I started an underground dessert club in high school and quickly realized how much I love to cook and eat. I spent the next six years working in restaurants all over the Bay Area. With no formal pastry training, I staged and did everything from peeling apples, coating candy bars, plating masterpieces, and finally opening a restaurant as part of the dedicated pastry team.
I see the world through food, and I started my blog to share that passion. From eating sushi in Japan at 5am to baking Nutella-filled cakes to reviewing restaurants, San Francisco is home base from which to explore, learn, and of course, eat.
And because everyone asks me this question (and it’s so hard to choose!), here are some recent favorite places in SF I’ve been eating at:
- Mensho Tokyo
- Nopa (especially for brunch)
- Craftsman & Wolves
- The Mill (I’m usually here twice a week)
Drop me a line! I love meeting new people and playing tourist. Find me at any of the following:
