This month I learned that different parts of life move at different paces. The parts of my life that I want to move fast seem to take FOREVER—like formulating a new marketing strategy at work. The parts that I’d usually be moving slowly in are speed racing—like formulating a new friendship or relationship. And then there are parts that I couldn’t really predict at all how they’d move, so I have to fit them into the rest of everything else going on and then go with it. Which I’m not very good at all the time.
But I have a lot of people in my life who push me and make me happy when I feel like I’m overwhelmed or frustrated or anxious or not really good at anything. And I get to experience a ton of cool things along the way. Here’s what I’ve been feeling thankful for this month:
Fitfam workouts at Kezar stadium (best way to spend a Tuesday night)
Yoga (for stretching me out AF)
Bollywood music (surprisingly a great way to get over jet lag)
International business trips (and weekend adventures with coworkers)
Irish bread and butter (SO much better than anything in the US)
Jamaican food (jerk chicken everything)
Happy hours
Friends who live all over the world (more reasons to travel)
Karaoke (specifically when it’s to Mulan songs)
Ladies nights (with massive cheese plates)
Weekend hikes
Oakland nights out (the dancing is just so much better)
Meaningful conversations with people I just met
My new rug!
