Resolutions? I’m all about reservations. The annual SF Restaurant Week is here, and along with it, my top 10 list of where you should be eating at!
I’ve been participating in SF Restaurant Week long before I even moved to SF. I’d research the shit out of restaurants and then convince/drag one of my parents to take me there. As I got older, I did the same with my friends until dragging became planning and everyone realized that this week is one of the best ways to eat in style without breaking the bank.
In no particular order, here are my top 10 and why:
Finn Town Tavern { The vibe seems casual but the food is anything but. Dishes here are better shared, which is actually pretty perfect }
Flour + Water {This spot is usually reserved for special occasions, but guess what, SF Restaurant Week is a special occasion. The pastas are always spot on }
La Mar { It’s one of the few places that offers deals for both lunch and dinner, so you can take your pick. My pick: Always go for the empanadas }
Locanda { Another solid pasta place with even more solid appetizers. The fact that it’s walking distance from my apartment doesn’t hurt either }
M.Y. China { How often have you walked by this in the mall but never eaten here? Same. Now is your chance }
Palm House { I like using SF Restaurant Week to explore neighborhoods I don’t usually go to either. Palm House is the best of all worlds, with delicious Caribbean food nestled in the thick of the Marina }
Parigo { The only thing that shines more than the meat dishes here are the wine pairings, making Parigo a new comer worth trying out }
Rooh {This contemporary Indian restaurant is relatively new to the SF dining scene but seems like it’s already become a staple. Get any of their chicken dishes and an inventive cocktail for a unique dinner }
The Saratoga { Every time I come here, I’m blown away by the cocktails and the creative take on American food. It’s comfort food but wayyyyyy better }
Uma Casa { Possibly one of the only Portugese restaurants in SF, making it a prime spot to try this week. The sausages are to die for }
