There are many reasons I’ve wanted to join a wine club. For one, I like wine. I really like wine. But what’s more, knowing about wine is no longer limited to those who work in the food industry. Knowing the basics and then some is not only a necessity when going out to dinner, but it’s also become important when cooking at home. A good wine resurrects you; a bad wine demolishes you.
A big deterrent for joining a wine club for me has been price and location. Too often are the subscriptions out of my price range and only for wineries that require an hour drive to retrieve, which for someone without a car, isn’t convenient.
So I’ve been thrilled to learn that Bi Rite now has its own wine club!
The Bi-Rite Wine Club is the answer to all your wine-loving and wine-buying prayers. It’s extremely affordable, at $95/month, and its sole purpose is to provide you with wines you haven’t heard of before that are delicious and, in the words of wine curator Trac Le, “meant to be drank.”
The wines in each month’s selection aren’t bound by region. They are functional wines, each with a distinct profile that can turn a red-wine lover onto some killer whites, and vice-versa. It’s easy to pick-up your shipment, and if you like any wine in particular, you can buy the bottle at Bi-Rite at a 10% discount!
This month’s wine selection is calling out for summer–see the overview below. Sign up for the Bi-Rite Wine Club and you’ll get these wines and so many more interesting ones in the months to come. It’s about time to really up your wine game without breaking the bank.
La Torraza { A sweet and melony wine good with polenta or melon and prosciutto }
Cassis Dom { This region is known for its rosé, so its white wine is overlooked. It’s much drier and good for food with body, like oysters }
Gamay Noir Rosé { From Portland! It’s got a nice peachy smell to it and pairs with roasted chicken or hearty salads }
Grignolino { A red wine from Piedmont, this is your weeknight order a pizza and have a glass wine }
Lebanon red { I’ve never had a Lebanese wine, but it doesn’t surprise me that this one is spicy and almost smoky, meant to stand up to lamb }
Disruption { It’s a Cabernet/Malbec blend, but it’s much lighter and fruitier, making it another weeknight wine }
