July in San Francisco is a funny thing. It’s foggy AF on Saturday mornings, windy on Sunday afternoons, and blazing on days when you least expect it. But it’s also the month that houses my birthday, America’s birthday, PLUOTS (one of my favorite fruits), and a marathon that I’ll be conquering this Sunday. It’s summer the way SF experiences it—equal parts intriguing and noncommittal. And it’s still one of my favorite months of the year.
I’ve been carb-loading to prepare for Sunday (not that I’m ever not carb-loading), and ate at some pretty delicious spots this month. Some are staples and repeat highlights on my Instagram, while others are new. Here’s the roundup of my favorite places!
Bellota { Newly opened, this Absinthe Group restaurant is redefining tapas and killing it. The 4-year aged ham is insane; full review coming next week! }
Thorough Bread & Pastry { I forget that this place is so close to me, has wi-fi, and has an amazing back patio to soak in some rays while I work }
Farallon { It’s been around forever, but with a revamped menu, it’s put refined seafood back on the map }
Little Griddle { I need to come to Noe Valley more often for these strawberry soufflé pancakes }
Ferry Building Farmer’s Market { It’s a little overwhelming, but with some extra time, the weekend farmer’s market is still one of my favorite place to sample local goods and have a casual brunch }
Spirits Alley Alameda { I explored the East Bay a little more and loved it! Wine + bicycles is always a good idea }
Indian Paradox { Whenever I want Indian street food with wine pairings, I know where to come }
Craftsman & Wolves, the Den { Their Bayview spot is quickly becoming my favorite location for its chilled out, sunny vibes and stellar pastries }
The Mill { I know, I always include this place. But homemade Nutella toast? Come on. }
