Just when I thought I couldn’t eat anymore and that I had been to every place in San Francisco, the city once again proves me wrong. This past month, I’ve stuffed myself. I woke myself up at coffeeshop staples, felt inspired by summer dessert menus, and discovered new restaurants that seem to be popping up as fast as Drake singles. With the official start of summer underway, it’s a good time to be dining out in the city, and I have some of my favorite spots of June to share:
Coffee:

Thorough Bread & Pastry { A locals only spot with a cute back patio and a killer almond croissant }
Saint Frank Coffee { Almond macadamia nut latte. Enough said }
Vive la Tarte { The new hazelnut croissant has me hooked. Beware: They are closed on Mondays! }
Contraband Coffee { One of my favorite spots to get some work done at }
Desserts:

Old Bus Tavern { Black barley ice cream with roasted banana ganache, fudge, and maple pecans }
Smitten Ice Cream { There are boozy ice cream flavors all summer, starting with the whiskey chip. I like it with cookie dough pieces }
Boba Guys { It’s technically a drink, but the horchata boba feels like dessert to me }
Loving Cup { The Dirty Hipster mix: Vanilla fro-yo with Oreos and Nutella }
New Go-To Spots:

Crown & Crumpet { Tucked away in Japantown, the afternoon tea service is a fun way to spend an afternoon with girlfriends }
Amour Vert { I’m obsessed with everything in this Hayes Valley boutique. I bought a polka dot jumpsuit that I can’t stop wearing, and I’ve never even owned a jumpsuit until now! }
Old Bus Tavern { Bernal Heights is my new hangout spot, starting with the multi-course menu here. Also foie gras. }
Black Sands Brewery { Yes, I live across the street, but it’s a solid place and the quinoa salad is delicious }
Souvla { The new Divisadero location is open! Which means lamb salad for days }
Evil Eye { The chic interior and the deviled eggs are making this new bar my Friday evening spot }
Piccino { Secretly one of my favorite brunch places. Or not so secretly. }
