It’s been a hectic one, folks.
Usually, this is an issue for me. I love having a calendar chockfull of events, people to meet, restaurants to try, hipster things to be accused of doing. But this weekend, it was all about me and getting my head back in the game. This re-focusing included a mini friend feast to celebrate India’s independence day (Jai Hind!), 5 hours of straight cooking (can you FEEL the recipes heading your way soon?!) and a lazy Sunday at my favorite haunt and café – farmer’s market + Beanbag Café.
The last weeks, however fun and adventurous, have been a bit of an internal struggle. In between a full-time job, blogging, selling sweets online, and general debauchery, I have begun to lose myself in the short term and digressing from what I want my big picture to look like. Additionally, last week a friend of a similar age suddenly passed away in a freak accident. Her untimely death put my senses to a halt, and I came to the stark conclusion that time is precious. We think we are untouchable at this age but we are not, and it is eternally important to keep pursuing our dreams, telling our lovers and friends how much they mean to us, and living every day as a revolution.
While this weekend was not necessarily a revolution, it was a time of reflection and reassessment of the people, places, and notions that I hold dear. There is so much potential waiting to be unleashed and I hope to spend the latter half of this year discovering it. And of course, I hope you all can join the journey with more recipes, spotlights, and weekend E.A.T.s!
